Editorial Policy
The journal Mélanges francophones is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that fully adheres to the principles and values defining the ethical and intellectual integrity of members of the international scientific community. As such, the journal places great importance on respecting publication ethics standards and ensures transparency in the selection and publication process of research articles, in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) - https://publicationethics.org/
All parties involved in the article selection and publication process, namely the editorial board, authors, and scientific committee, are committed to upholding scientific publication ethics at every stage of the publication process.
The Editorial Board
The editorial board ensures compliance with ethical standards in scientific publishing.
The editorial team, through the editor-in-chief, conducts an initial selection of submitted articles. All articles will be evaluated based on their merit (interest, originality, clarity), without any external influence. Any submitted article that does not sufficiently align with the proposed theme, critical and linguistic requirements, or editorial guidelines will be returned to the author for revision before undergoing peer review.
Each selected article will be anonymized and submitted for double-blind peer review by two members of the journal’s scientific committee. Articles will be assigned based on the reviewers’ areas of expertise. The evaluation is conducted on a voluntary basis by members of the scientific committee within deadlines set by the editor-in-chief. After evaluating each article, reviewers will complete an evaluation form and provide one of the following recommendations:
- Acceptance of the manuscript as submitted
- Acceptance pending major revisions
- Acceptance pending minor revisions
- Rejection
Comments and corrections may also be made in revision mode directly within the article text. If there is a discrepancy in the final opinions, the article will be submitted to a third reviewer whose decision will be final.
The anonymized evaluation forms will be forwarded to the authors, who will revise their manuscripts thoroughly in accordance with the feedback and observations received. The editorial board, through the editor-in-chief, will make a final decision regarding the publication of the article based on how well the authors have addressed the required changes and comments.
As the final step in the evaluation process, the editor-in-chief will check the articles and their sources for plagiarism using the software www.sistemantiplagiat.ro. This step is part of the standard publication procedure of Galati University Press (www.gup.ugal.ro/index.php/ro/). If plagiarism is detected, the article will be rejected without further notice.
All manuscripts submitted for review, as well as any documents created during the evaluation process, are for the exclusive consultation of the editorial board and scientific committee. The anonymity of both reviewers and authors will be maintained, and the editor-in-chief will ensure that there is no conflict of interest regarding the articles and authors throughout the editing and publication process.
The Authors
The journal publishes only original, unpublished texts that are not under review by another journal. The authors bear full responsibility for the content of the published texts and the accuracy of their bibliographic references. Authors are required to declare the originality of the manuscript and to transfer copyright to Galati University Press. They must also rigorously cite all bibliographic sources used and obtain permission to reproduce, in whole or in part, any content sourced from other publications.
Authors must immediately inform the editor-in-chief if a significant error is discovered in their published article. A correction notice will be issued or the article will be withdrawn if necessary.
